I bought a thing!
With the weather changing, and my dirt driveway* turning all my cars brown, I decided to bring home a neglected Outback.
The head gasket was leaking on the driver’s side, prompting the previous owner to give up on it. After some Blue Devil it’s running great and hooning around the homestead.

Got any plans for it, or is it just for winter driving purposes? Either way, nice find!

Right now I’m just making it reliable and safe. It could really use a slight lift and a decent skid plate, but other than that I don’t think I’ll do much to it. Although, if a wrecked WRX comes up for sale for a decent price...

Oh ok. I remember seeing your post about the Merc and I wracking my brain trying to figure out the area. Nice rigs!

Ah, the sweet old oil burner I worked on. That one wasn’t mine, unfortunately. I’m a mechanic, and with all of the oddball cars in this community I get to work on some cool stuff.

FWIW, I get my skidplates through
Primitive Racing.
They’re absolutely second to none and on my last Outback it held up through multiple rally recces, jumps, off road shenanigans, and a metric crapton of other abuse. Might be a bit pricey for a skid plate going on a beater though.
